Scraper Factory

As FOIA requests go unanswered and government data disappears, reporters increasingly must collect their own. So, I co-created Scraper Factory: an AI-automated code generator that lets journalists build fleets of Python scrapers in minutes. Scraper Factory automates the first-draft scraper-writing process using AI, then runs those scrapers on a recurring schedule with no continued reliance on LLMs. I taught sessions on the tool at the 2025 Computation + Journalism conference and NICAR 2026.
